Process 1

 

I like use pencil to mark the line and position dot. Pencil mark can be precise and looks better than marker. For this task, firstly, the sheet was cut to 300*300, and then the position of the central curve and three bending line are marked for later use. Meanwhile the wings of the shovel also can be marked.

then  use the wooden mallet to slightly hit the area without forceful hit and avoid unexpected damage to the steel.

As the metal was slowly stretched, sharper hammer tips that fit the curve of the shape were used, in order to further define this shape. This time hit strongly and perpendicular to the edge.
Additionally, we can use semi-cylinder, a vice and blocks of wood to define these sharp edges, which later taper off to a curve.

when I got the satisfied rough shape of the curve, I put it on the cylinder and use steel hammer to refine its shape and edges.

 

And large hammer with straight edge are used to push and define the curve's edge line to get a better and straight finish.
